Our words have power. God spoke us and everything else into existence. To slander someone is a crime. Revolutions occur and countries are formed because of words that are spoken. Speeches, interviews, and media events help shape public policy and determine who is elected into office.
Proverbs 18:21 says the tongue has the power of life and death. When people talk about the power of words they seem to focus on the negative stuff but remember words also have the power to bless, to speak into someone's life, to alter their path for the better! One of the most powerful things ever said to me was by my father when he said “I'm proud if you son”. I didn’t realize that I wanted my dads approval. He had been fairly absent during critical years of my life. As I became an adult our relationship changed somehow and I'm not sure why. I just picked up the relationship as if he had always been there. It really speaks to the role a father plasy and in my own mind further validates the statistics associated with fatherlessness. Without them we are lost! For those who don’t have their biological father thank God that he is our dad. Anyway when my dad said those words I was reduced to tears and I couldn't understand why. Words truly do have power Tori and I want you to know that I am proud if you. Not because of your accomplishments or skills but because of who you are! More importantly, God is proud of you too!
